My morning Cup of Tea

I like to have a cup of tea while reading the Word each morning. This morning's cup has some beautiful pink roses on it, and was a gift from my Grandmother. Tea is wonderful, and I usually drink it in a mug, but nothing makes you feel more ladylike than raising a pinkie while drinking from a delicate piece of china.
This week I will be working on combating my temper problem (wish me luck!) with these scriptures, and the Lords help.
"Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly."
                                                                          Proverbs 14:29
"Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city."
                                                                           Proverbs 16:32
I have a quick temper, among many other faults, and this week I am going to memorise these two verses and repeat them daily in my head, especially when I am getting frustrated. After all, if our Lord himself used the Word to combat Satan, then I will be more than able to use it to combat my irritability!

  1. What a beautiful tea cup! I agree there is something special about drinking from a tea cup. I'll be praying for you this week as you memorize the scriptures. ~Alana~

  2. I'm dealing with anger today - I really need this!

Thanks and thanks for following The Old Parsonage. I hope that you like what we share. I just signed up to be your newest follower so we can be fast friends.

  3. Good Afternoon Mrs. Evans!

It is a pleasure to meet you and to thank you for stopping by my humble cottage.

I have read your past posts and they are delightful. What a gracious hostess you are.

I have enjoyed myself immensely. And yes, I will return. Your apartment reminds me of mine in my single days. And yes, like you, I live in a very "small" I would say in all honesty "minuscule" income, which my gracious and loving husband earns close by.

Thank you for sharing...and I will keep you in prayer in regards to your temper. I am Hispanic, so loosing one's cool, is not unusual for me. But I must share Shannon, that only He, Our Saviour, can truly change you from the inside out.

    In His Grace and Love,

  4. Thank you Maria, for stopping in and for becoming a follower:) I am excited to be meeting so many new women who are Godly, and look forward to becoming friends with you!
    Gods Blessing be on you,
